Sara Kovel Events is a deeply experienced, full-service event planning & design firm specializing in weddings, celebrations, and high-level corporate events. From tented estate weddings to elegant black tie celebrations to destination wedding weekends, our deeply experienced team plans and designs flawless celebrations that are timeless, joyful, and elevated.

We believe in creating thoughtful, highly personalized celebrations and providing a truly customized client experience. Our hands-on approach tackles all of the small yet important details such as vendor logistics, transportation, permits, power needs, production riders, and so on, freeing couples to focus on the enjoyable aspects of wedding planning, such as menu tastings, design choices, and hair and makeup trials.

PLANNING
BUDGET DEVELOPMENT & MANAGEMENT
This is where we lay the foundation by creating a detailed budget and payment schedule and sourcing tried-and-true vendors that align with your vision and style. We create expense and payment tracking and reporting to ensure that budget goals are met and communicated.
VENDOR CURATION & PARTNERSHIPS
Advise on and engage the photographer, videographer, music & entertainment, caterer, and all necessary vendors.
For example, Photographer: Advise on the best photographer based on style & budget. Advise on Preparation, Ceremony, Cocktail Hour, Reception, and Family Pictures. Consult on photography and/or videography shot selections and timing. Provide ongoing liaison with photographer post-event.
Music/Entertainment: Advise and engage the musicians/band for the Wedding. Consult on music selections for the ceremony (prelude, processional, interlude, and recessional), wedding reception (first dance, etc.), and after party.
GUEST LIST & RSVP MANAGEMENT
Our team will provide timely reports of those attending, those not attending, and those who have not replied. We also track transportation requests and report hotel lists based on replies.
WEBSITE DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT
We will design and create a custom password protected website for you to relay pertinent information to your guests such as hotels, transportation schedules and attire boards.

DESIGN CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
Together, we will determine your goals and style while we begin undertaking the design process. We create and present a high-level design concept and then subsequently meet with your team of creative vendors to develop customized proposals for you and begin working on your detailed design deck.
FLORAL/EVENT DESIGN, STATIONERY DESIGN & MENU DEVELOPMENT
Together with our creative partners, we will consider every visual component, such as color palette, floral design, lighting, rental selections, and stationery, to ensure that your wedding truly reflects your personal style. We will also consider the entirety of the guest experience, from temperature to views and everything in between, to curate the entire guest experience.
We will collaborate with your catering culinary team to curate a dining experience and consult on menu choices, wine selections, style of service, and wedding cake design.

EVENT MANAGEMENT & PRODUCTION
EVENT MANAGEMENT & timing
We create a detailed production schedule for the vendor team and coordinate all vendor logistics, from permitting to load-in and setup. We will create a wedding timeline for you and your family/wedding party so everyone knows where to be and when. We will finalize all day-of items such as menus, escort cards, rooming lists, welcome boxes, etc. We will send a remaining payment list to zip up the final details in the weeks leading up to the wedding.
GROUND TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT
We secure and manage the ground transportation operator. We coordinate details for the wedding party and guest transfers to and from the wedding. Our team provides transportation managers to coordinate pick up and drop off, and we create pickup and drop off timelines for all vehicles.
EVENT MANAGEMENT & PRODUCTION
Our team is on-site for the entire event, managing the vendors, checking for rental accuracy, and ensuring the setup is going according to plan. We will ensure the day is running smoothly and on time. We confirm the timeline and cues with all vendors, including the musicians and caterer/venue. We will monitor and cue for important events during the ceremony & reception, oversee tear down and cleanup, ensuring all rentals and important items are returned to their owners.

We have relationships with vendors all over the world, which provides us with a deep network of exclusive vendors so we can find you the perfect fit.
With our in-depth experience in the luxury event industry in many roles, we are forward-thinking logistical experts adept at resolving any challenges that may arise in high-pressure situations.
As part of our high-touch service, we offer a bridal dresser on our team who steams and presses the bridal gown, helps dress the bride, and tends to any fashion emergencies such as broken zippers, torn straps, etc.
Our dresser will remain on hand throughout the formal photos to ensure the dress stays pristine while attending to small details throughout the shoot. The stylist is an expert with bustling and will get you back onto the dance floor quickly if you have an attire change. She can also troubleshoot any issues that may arise with the tailoring process.
Sara’s approach embraces her New England pragmatism, discretion, and light-hearted sense of humor. Her goal is for you to enjoy your engagement (and share a few laughs with Sara along the way) while she and her team handle the details for you.

Founder & creative director Sara Kovel has been planning weddings and events for over 20 years and has earned recognition amongst her industry peers to be one of New England’s top planners.
Originally from the idyllic Berkshires in Western Massachusetts, she began her career at the esteemed Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida, where she collaborated with some of the most talented event professionals in the industry.
Eventually relocating back North, Sara found a home in Boston at the Five Star, Five Diamond Four Seasons Hotel as a Catering Sales Manager, where she planned weddings and events and (where she met her husband William, who was the Chef of Aujourd’hui at the time). In 2011, William and Sara opened Catalyst Restaurant, one of the pioneer restaurants and event venues in Technology Square near the MIT Campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Together, they founded Walsh Hospitality, which includes a growing portfolio of restaurants and event venues, and launched Sara Kovel Events in 2015.

This includes all event planning, event management, event design, and our team on-site for your celebration(s).
Because of our high level of involvement in each event, we do not take on more than 5 weddings or large celebrations annually.
The complexity, time commitment, staffing, and expectations are directly related to the budget. As the budget increases, the time investment, scope, complexity, and client expectations increase. This also allows you the flexibility to add on events such as the welcome reception, rehearsal dinner, and farewell brunch without having to reissue a new contract.
