Adirondack Destination Wedding

I love planning destination weddings but this was especially near and dear to my heart!

For those of us fortunate enough to have spent time at Big Moose Lake in the Adirondack Mountains, we know it's a beautiful and special place where it seems as if all of the troubles of the world fall by the wayside. I have to admit not having cell phone service for days at a time is nice! It was a perfect spot for Eric and Alison to celebrate their wedding weekend with their closest friends and family. Alison grew up on the Lake where she met Eric when they were small children. He and his family have a camp across the lake where they spend their summers. They were meant to be!

Alison's family and mine go back several generations. My grandfather and her Great-Uncle Everett worked together as Engineers at General Electric in Schenectady in the 1940's. Everett brought my grandfather up to his family's "camp" on Big Moose Lake one summer and 75+ years later my family still makes the annual trek to the Lake. So when Alison asked me if I would help her with her wedding naturally I was thrilled!

The weather was spectacular and the outdoor ceremony with the lake serving as the backdrop was simply stunning. Alison chose a natural color palette of green, creamy off-whites and blue which lent itself to the natural surroundings of the Lake.
