I’ve had three weeks to reflect on my recent trip to London to attend the Engage Conference. Engage is a three-day luxury wedding business summit that we have had the pleasure of attending many times over the past 5 years. The locale changes each time which affords us the opportunity to experience new cites, locations, venues as our clients would. I consider it part FAM trip (a familiarization trip), part educational, part summer camp with fellow event professionals. I’m able to spend time at amazing properties that I can then speak to when planning destination weddings for clients. It’s certainly a bonus!

We were fortunate that Rosewood London was the host hotel. If you haven’t visited yet, I urge you to do so. It’s sleek, modern, comfortable and luxurious. I arrived a day early from Boston to give myself time to adjust to the time change and treated myself to their “jet lag” massage. The spa was wonderful! I also spend hours just walking around London exploring without a plan. It’s my favorite way to see explore a city,

Day 1 consisted of a general session with speakers such as Lynn Easton, Mindy Weiss, Marcy Blum, Carrie Lauren Weddings & Travel Editor of Harpars Bazaar. Not to mention Philippa Craddock the floral designer behind the Duke & Duchess of Sussex’s (AKA Harry & Meghan) wedding and Simon Lucett, the floral designer of TRH the Prince of Wales & Duchess of Cornwall and HRH Princess Eugenie & Jack Brooksbank’s weddings.

The welcome party was hosted at the Tower of London. Say whaaaatttt???

Day two the general sessions continued followed by a royal banquet at Whitehall Palace which was my favorite event of the week. No detail was overlooked and the entertainment was beyond spectacular. From a gospel choir to dancers to amazing bands we danced the night away on the spectacular mirrored dance floor which made the most of the awe-inspiring ceiling pantings by Peter Paul Rubens dating back to 1622.

The final evening was spent at Kensignton Palace at an Avante Garde cockail reception. We concluded the evening there with a spectacular arial show complete with silent disco headphones so we wouldn’t wake the princes and princess in the next apartment over :)
